A Helper at Heart...

Here are the details of Kimberly's journey

A 30+ Year Career With Animals
Lions and tigers and bears. Oh my!

Since an early age, I knew I wanted to help animals.  I've worked in private practices (with cats and dogs), at various zoological institutions around the country, and ended my career teaching veterinary technology students at the local college.

Because of my extensive background in animal health, and two degrees in science, I absolutely *L O V E* learning about the science of how our bodies work, and to break that information down so that anyone can understand it!

It's because of my career in veterinary medicine that I have a deeper understanding of how toxins affect our health!

Motherhood
Infertility, adoption, single motherhood, and homeschooling

Infertility is an incredibly difficult journey!  My heart goes out to you if that is your current phase of life.  After years of struggling through infertility treatments, we decided to go the adoption route and were blessed to have our daughter placed with us when she was just 2 days old!

Since the Lord blessed me with my daughter, my primary focus has been being to cherish every minute possible with her. Time really does fly all too quickly!  We chose to homeschool for a variety of reasons and started with preschool back in 2012.  I don't regret a moment of it!  It's a journey that the Lord has called us to, so He has seen us through, and we're now in the high school years.

In 2013, I was unexpectedly left as a single mother when my husband left 10 days after our 17th wedding anniversary . It has not been an easy journey, but the Lord has provided every step of the way.  He was not surprised by my ex-husband's choices and the Lord continues to beautifully go before my daughter and me to make a way.

Being able to mentor other women in their journeys is an honor and privilege because God does not waste our suffering...
2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from GodFor just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

My Fibromyalgia and Mold Toxicity Journey

Debilitating fatigue, extreme inflammation, IBS, couch-bound many days, and in lots of pain

This picture best describes the worst of these seasons of my life:
  • Beyond exhausted
  • So inflamed I could hardly move
  • Severe IBS
  • Barely functioning
  • Uncomfortably dry eyes
  • Shedding hair everywhere
I was seeing 6 different clinical specialists at the time of my diagnosis in 2012 and they all concurred I had fibromyalgia.  As I dug deeper to understand my diagnosis I was told fibromyalgia was a syndrome....merely a collection of symptoms from an unknown cause.  Each of these specialists wanted to treat my symptoms with medications.  That stopped me in my tracks!  Meds from 6 different doctors, all to merely treat my symptoms, not to cure me....I said a hard NO and began looking for a different way.

Thankfully I found a naturopathic chiropractor in my area who did Nutritional Response Testing.  He identified certain toxins in my body, provided homeopathic remedies to help me slowly detox, and helped me learn to eat right for my body type.  It took 2 years, but I went from having to be on the couch many days to starting to feel better after that preliminary detoxing and learning how to eat better.

And then my marriage ended.  So many of the symptoms returned with this trauma.  I was emotionally worn to a nub and now it felt as though my body was betraying me.  What I didn't learn until later was that emotional toxicity creates a diseased state in the body!  Dr. Walsh, my naturopathic chiropractor, continued my supportive care and had me go on an elimination diet once my wellness stabilized.  Turns out wheat was a huge culprit for a lot of symptoms, so I cut it out and have been gluten free ever since.

Fast forward a few years and essential oils entered my life.  Knowing I was trying to live a natural and healthy life, a friend began talking to me about essential oils and I was TOTALLY skeptical at first....especially since I had tried another brand of oils and wasn't impressed...and then I had my first ah-ha moment with an essential oil blend called  Stress Away.  I took one whiff of that oil and could literally feel the pressure gage inside me go down.  I diffused it at night and found I had the best sleep I'd had in years,  She gave me a few more samples that ended up making me a full-on believer that these oils worked!

I then started to learn about nutritional supplements and what would benefit my body most as I continued my health journey.  I also learned that there are a LOT of shady companies out there, selling supplements that aren't fully bioavailable.  What a waste of money those were!  After a while I found the balance of supplements and eating habits that best sustained my body.

From there, I plateaued again and dug deeper with an extensive food sensitivity panel.  I found the need to radically eliminate many foods and I became mostly plant-powered.  After nearly 14 months I slowly began reintroducing foods back into my diet.  I learned that when I balanced my diet just right I had better energy for the entire day.  What a change from being completely couch-bound on my worst days!

I was trucking along, feeling my best when in May of 2020 my house flooded from bad plumbing under the house, and 5 rooms of our home were destroyed.  Sadly, we also ended up with mold that made me very sick.  At that point, my body reached it's critical threshold for toxicity and I became ill again. Thankfully, between Dr. Walsh and my new functional medicine nurse practitioner, we were able to come up with a plan to help me get through this last trauma.

Turns out 1 in 4 people do not have their detox pathways functioning well and I'm one of those folks.  This explains a LOT in my journey.  I learn about detoxing and toxin-free living every change I get and help educate as many folks as I can.  I'm not a doctor or nurse, and can't diagnose or prescribe, but I can teach you how to listen to your body, direct you to valuable resources, and pray for you.

Wellness is a journey of daily decisions and long-term commitment.  I am fully committed to living as healthfully as possible.  Are you?
Aroma Freedom
Eliminating negative thoughts, feelings, and attitudes, and replacing with a renewed mind filled with confidence and hope.

In 2016 I experienced my first Aroma Freedom session, hosted by the creator Dr. Benjamin Perkus.  I was blown away in the session at the level of negative emotional baggage I was still carrying from my divorce (I had done a lot of work to heal by then).  Also revealed in that session were some of the unhealthy subconscious belief systems I had deeply tucked away as a result my the divorce.

Y'all, I'm a strong, emotionally-healthy, independent woman, and the garbage that came to the surface shocked me.

The good news is...the Aroma Freedom session helped me clear that stuff O U T!

Fascinated, I dug deeper into the process and after a lot of prayer decided to become a Certified Aroma Freedom Practitioner.

So what is Aroma Freedom?  It's a step-by step-process for eliminating negative thoughts and feelings and permanently replacing them with positive thoughts.  Paul tells us not to be conformed to the ways of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  It's then we'll be able to know God's will for us. Romans 12:2

Bottom line....the enemy is a big liar and he seeks to steal, kill, and destroy us as he tries to make us believe we are ineffective in service to our Heavenly Father.  These negative belief systems come from bad experiences we've had and hurtful things people have said to us.

Our minds create a defense mechanism to keep us from getting hurt again...basically it takes those negative experiences and sets off a subconscious alarm if it feels we're getting too close to getting hurt again.

What Aroma Freedom does is it helps us to gently unearth those past experiences, in relation to current situations and replace the negativity with the ability to move forward toward our hopes and dreams.
  • Can't seem to get around to making that phone call?
  • Self-sabotaging your diet?
  • Can't ask for that raise?
  • Stuck in a destructive pattern?
  • Struggling to release and/or forgive?
Aroma Freedom can help!

Aroma Freedom Practitioners are not counselors or therapists, although Aroma Freedom sessions are highly compatible to therapy, and according to Dr. Perkus, can even help to shorten the amount of time certain therapies are required.
